I'm looking for a disc with real test tone frequencies. Like tones from 20-20k. Anyone know if this exists?

Thanks,

Chris

DVD or CD?
Avia has low freq signal sweeps, not full band if I recall. Dolby put out a test and ref DVD for installers back in the early days, I'm lucky to own a copy. Has full sweeps for 5.1, every channel, all channel at the same time, everything.
For CDs, there are probably 1000 different 2 channel discs with freq sweeps. This won't help for rear channels, unless you line them direct into a 6 channel input.
Also, consider computer software. There are quite a few freeware tone generators around. I have one on my laptop- and I actually use it more often than most of the pro calibration software I have (SmartPro for example)-- just because it is simple and I can get what I want right away.

But, to answer your questions- yes. If all you want is CD, do a web search, you should find a few dozen.
Do a forum search for tone generation, and you might find some links which might help you:

Hope that helps (a search is a wonderful thing!)

Thanks Vince.

I guess it doesn't matter if it's a cd or dvd. I'm just curious to see what my speakers can reproduce.

That Dolby DVD would certainly be handy. Does anyone else offer something like that?
I'll search the forums for stuff too :)

I have always wondered if a forum member could create mp3s of some tones created by a PC software based tone generator, would distributing them be a copywrite violation? If not, and someone has the capability to do this, I would be willing to host the files via HTTP and or FTP.
