Can anyone recommend a good calibration CD to use. I remember reading about one a while back but forgot the name of it. Just ordered a new 20-39 PCi, so I'm gonna need somehting to calibrate it here in a couple of weeks =).

I also heard there was a place on the web where you could download the test tones in MP3 format and burn them to a CD.. anyone here of this place?

Avia or Video Essentials. I have yet to try the Sound & Vision disc, but I hear it is similar (if not the same) to Avia.

If you need something for level matching each channel, the Avia or VE DVDs are great. If you need something for parametric EQ of your bass, I would consider this. It plays all frequencies from 10Hz to 100Hz...

If you are looking to set up a parametric EQ, it is easy to make your own test tones and burn your own CD. I think there are places to download MP3s, but it was easier for me to just make the test tones on my computer as .wav files, and burn the CD.

Mine has tracks 10 through 99 as 30 second test tones at the frequency of the track number (eg. track 45 is 45 Hz). The first 9 tracks are some sweeps I made myself, stuff like a slow 10 to 100 Hz sweep, another slow 20 to 20KHz sweep, etc.

If you need help doing this, I'm happy to oblige. Or I can just send you a copy of my test CDR. I just couldn't get myself to pay $15-30 or whatever for something that can be whipped up in a little time on the ole PC! Of course it did help that I have some sudio editing programs handy!

    Cheers,

    Chris

ps. I offered a copy of my test CD to a few folks a while ago, and spaced out sending them. Sorry - anyone who reads this that falls in that category, just scream at me and I'll get one out to ya, finally!
