How in the heck are they gonna bring back the Terminator. I do recall that at the end of Terminator 2 T 1000? or something like that was melted. How are they gonna recover the chip that was in the Terminator or how can they make a third movie? I dont recall Terminator two ending with a possibilty of a third installment. If others can bring there thoughts on this matter I believe it would benefit this forum. So in essence this post is just a brain-grinder to get people's input on how Terminator 3 could be about.

I hope this make sense!

As I remember it, the terminator's arm got stuck in some machinery at the end of T2. I guess they could get something out of that?

We know that Reese was sent to the past, winds up impregnating sarah, who gives birth to John, who winds up sending Reese back. This closed-loop view of time means that whatever happened in T2 MUST result in the apocalyptic future that results in them sending two terminators back in time. So there must be some backup data of the chip or perhaps the T1000 isn't fully dissolved in the melting pot.

I better stop here before my brain melts and I start seeing 12 monkeys running around.

They'll be able to find some way around the paradoxes. It won't make sense but they'll be so many explosions that the audience won't care. In the first Terminator, Reese tells the police that the humans won the war in the future and were about to destroy Skynet before it sent the first T-800 back to kill Sarah Conner. It failed, so Skynet never should have been able to send the T-1000. So T2 never should have happened.

I'll be disappointed if the story in T3 involves backup processors or the T-800's crushed arm. They better come up with something more orginal than that.

Anyone read the book T2: Infiltrator? Very good, although it's a little too slow-paced to make an effective Terminator movie.

What gets me is why didn't Cameron want to do T3? It's his baby, after all. I heard or read somewhere that T3 will happen in the future, about the war.
