I want to put a small ventilation system in my entertainment center, I would like to be able to only have the fan run when the internal temperature hits a certain level. Is there such unit that can control a small computer type brushless fan like that? Oops, my subject should have said AC switch........

The trick might be finding them. Grainger has them, but you can only access them through a company, business or institution, I think. You might have some luck with this or something similar at a local electronics hobby shop.

You could always try one of Rod Eliott's projects like this Thermo Fan Controller

I think he may have an on-off control as well. It wouldn't be difficult to modify Rod's circuit to switch an AC load with a Triac or relay.
