I've got an opportunity to get a brand new one, in the box and all, for about $50. Not sure what I'd do with it though. Any thoughts on this?

Isn’t that a stereo pre-amp? If so, and if it has remote control, you can connect it between your receiver and sub. Bingo, remote controlled sub!
