I don't know them all but here's what I do know off the top of my head:

DTS HD Master Audio: (not sure, but it wraps around a core DTS stream that uses 1500 kbps)

Dolby True HD: (it depends on the resolution of the audio signal, 24-bit takes about twice the space of a 16-bit signal. It's also variable so there's no exact number. On Blu-ray, a 640 DD core track is provided "as part of the package" though it's not a true core+extension methodology).

Dolby Digital Plus: (depends, it usually just attains what you'd get with "core"

Dolby at 640 kbps since HD DVD limits regular Dolby to 448 kbps. However it *can* go higher than 640 on HD DVD as well)

PCM 16/48: (roughly 1500 kbps... which is why that's the datarate that DTS picked for its "full bit-rate core" which used to get "packed" into the PCM-stream space on laserdisc and CD.)

PCM 24/48: (a 16-bit signal is about 66% that of a 24-bit signal. My math skills are lacking here but it should be slightly less than twice a standard 16-bit signal to encode a 24 bit PCM signal.)

Dolby Digital: Max rate on HD DVD and DVD is 448 and max rate on BD is 640.
DTS: Max rate on DVD, HD DVD, and BD is 1500 kbps.

DaVid,

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=760714

from that page, here are data for PCM

LPCM (uncompressed) 24-bit/48kHz - 6912Kbps
LPCM (uncompressed) 16-bit/48kHz - 4608Kbps
DTS-HD High Resolution Audio 6.1 - 3039Kbps
DTS-HD High Resolution Audio 5.1-ES - 3018Kbps

http://www.dts.com/dts-hd/dts-on-bluray-and-hddvd.php

DTS HD MA - DTS-HD Master Audio delivers audio at super high variable bit rates -24.5 mega-bits per second (Mbps) on Blu-ray discs and 18.0 Mbps on HD-DVD

DTS-HD High Resolution - 6.0 Mbps on Blu-ray discs and 3.0 Mbps on HD-DVD

Hmm. I'm confused. I thought that traditional CD-music (16/44.1) used a data-transfer rate of about 1500 kbps... which was why this datarate was used by DTS as a standard rate for their consumer-oriented streams.

Hmmm.

thanks for the links!

you are welcome,

I forgot to add that those are for 5.1,

LPCM (uncompressed) 24-bit/48kHz - 6912Kbps
LPCM (uncompressed) 16-bit/48kHz - 4608Kbps

I found this one 7.1

Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence
LPCM (uncompressed) 16-bit/48kHz -7.1 - 6144Kbps

Marek,

I confirmed that 2.0 16/44.1 is indeed only 1.5 mbps (1500 kbps).

Now I see why I was confused... I'm talking about the bit-rate for *2.0* PCM and you're talking about 5.1 (size channel) PCM which would be 1.5 x 3 = 4.5 mbps.

yup :) I just found out that too ;), because I was checking one new music and there was info "English PCM 2.0 Stereo (1.5mbps) "
