    The Daniel Craig Collection
Available on the Ultimate At-Home Experience October 22nd
4K Ultra HD to Include Dolby Vision®

Los Angeles, CA (September 19, 2019) – Today Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment announced THE DANIEL CRAIG COLLECTION, the complete collection of the four James Bond films starring Daniel Craig as 007, which will be available for the first time on 4K Ultra HD™ in Dolby Vision®. Beginning October 22nd, Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre will be available to own as a Collection for the ultimate at home movie-watching experience. The release features the extended unrated version of Casino Royale and includes select special features on Casino Royale and Skyfall.

From his introduction in Casino Royale through to his most recent mission in Spectre, Daniel Craig as Bond has experienced explosive action and adventures while his character crisscrossed the globe in a non-stop quest for justice.

Craig is currently in production on his fifth installment as James Bond in the franchise’s highly-anticipated 25th feature film NO TIME TO DIE from Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios (MGM), and Universal Pictures International, which is set for U.S. theatrical release on April 10, 2020.

The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs of THE DANIEL CRAIG COLLECTION will feature Dolby Vision® ultra-vivid imaging. When compared to a standard picture, Dolby Vision® can deliver spectacular colors never before seen on a screen, highlights that are up to 40 times brighter, and blacks that are 10 times darker. With Dolby Vision®, you will feel as if you are inside the action alongside 007 as the picture comes to life.

Those of you who bought the 4K James Bond Collection on iTunes (which was in 4K but with no HDR or Dolby Vision), please let us know if your movies get the HDR/DV treatment in the coming months. I'd be really interested to know if those transfers get altered.

So this is an eight disc set of four movies with three commentaries as the only extras? Something tells me we're being played here.

Honestly, the little bit of OCD in me is stopping me from getting this. We are literally on the precipice of Craig’s FINAL Bond film, and they come out with this “Daniel Craig” collection. If it had an empty spot for No Time to Die (as the Bond 50 set had for Skyfall), then it could be a COMPLETE Craig set once I buy his final film individually next year.

I preordered it last week and cancelled it today.

I just don’t watch these films.

1962-2002 are all day 1 buys but not the Craig ones. I just don’t watch them to warrant buying them.

But what if it had an empty slot and Craig decided to do another one after No Time to Die?

They would undoubtedly repackage another “Daniel Craig” collection, whether it’s one that includes Casino Royale thru No Time to Die or Casino Royale thru his hypothetical sixth film. Though it sounds like NTtD is 100% his final film.

And thinking about it further, seems weird that they are coming out with this set with so much time before the release of NTtD. You’d think it would come within a month of the new films release.

Agreed. In some ways it would make more sense to bring the other films out now for holidays...

Yeah, that would be ideal; use the holidays to release the older films on 4K, then use the theatrical release of NTtD for the release of Craig’s films on 4K (with an empty spot for NTtD).

I'd imagine the next set will come out to tie into the new film's theatrical release, and then another set to tie in with the video release. But we'll see.

    Agreed. Makes the most sense...

Actually they have the film in theaters and then even early summer when no time to die comes to Blu Ray too. Probably June or July??

I have gotten to the point that I am just tired of spending the money to buy these Bond films over and over again with each new emerging format.

Seems to me, the cheaper route would be to buy digital copies. Is the entire Bond series available digitally, owned to stream?

What is the cost of buying it in its entirety?

    Ron,

As I think you know, iTunes upgrades free of charge any HD digital bought on their service to 4K once it becomes available in that format, the exception being the Disney titles. All of those Bond movies have been on sale, bundled by actor on a discounted basis. For example, the Connery films were on sale for $24.99-29.99 within the past year a couple of times.

Take a look at the link below. It will tell you the current pricing of the Sean Connery Bundle as well as give you some historical pricing data.

    Robert,

    Thank you for that information.

I will keep an eye on the pricing. If I can get the entire Bond series for less than a 4k disc release with a future HDR upgrade I will be very happy!
