When are we gonna see LYDIA BAILEY (1952)?
Does anyone have Follow the Sun? How are the image and sound quality? The transfer FMC ran last summer suffered from some gate weave and regular audio crackles.
( 35mm trailer frame) (35mm frame from feature)
Lydia Bailey is available (or was) from Fox in Spain. The transfer was quite decent and knowing Fox I doubt their MOD transfer if and when it comes will be an improvement.
I wonder when Fox will announce titles for March or April ? They put out a pretty good amount of titles in feb . I hope it continues . More early Tracy would be great .
I'm really hoping for Tin Pan Alley, Alex and the Gypsy & Sand.
Thanks for sharing this information regarding the DVDS
kudos to glory brigade. lee marvin was also in it.
Watched Glory Brigade for the first time . Pretty good war film . Marvin was great as the demolition expert . Looking forward to watching Five Fingers . Haven't seen this one in years .
Glory Brigade looked pretty good .
Received "Mother Wore Tights" today.
Compared to other Fox Archive titles this one looks and sounds OK.
However the colours are a bit washed out, there are a few minor colour registration problems and the image is a little on the soft side, but overall it is quite acceptable. (on a par with "The Shocking Miss Pilgrim")
Sound quality is OK.
Looks like there was a bit of work put into this transfer - may have originally been intended for the aborted 'Volume 2' Betty Grable DVD boxset.
Thanks for the grabs. They certainly have the look of modern Eastmancolor rather than Technicolor of the period (owing to Fox scrapping their Technicolor 3-strip masters). It's my favorite Grable film (I love the three interpretations of "You Do" in the movie), so I guess if no Blu-ray is forthcoming (it was on the Vote Your Choice list, so Fox has an HD master for it), I'll have to get this.
Matt, Mother Wore Tights does look good and even better than the "grabs" posted here. It looks much better than The Shocking Miss Pilgrim in my opinion. I agree that it must have had some work done on it for a possible Grable 2 collection. I believe the same was done for Call Me Mister which is head and shoulders above most Fox Archives releases quality-wise.
