I have been researching and found no definite answer so far. Here is the situation. My wife and I are both retired. I have Medicare Parts A, B, & D which I pay premiums on. My wife has private insurance (not yet old enough for Medicare) and also covers me for Dental.

I think all this is deductible, but where? I've read that if a person is self-employed the premiums are taken off your income right on 1040. I can't find any specific mention of retirees for this situation. If we have to take them as medical expenses, which I know we can, the deductions are much less valuable.

Anyone have any ideas on this?
