I was thinking about ordering this dvd and I found that DVDsoon.com listed two versions.

This one is the recently announced one by Columbia/Tristar

link

The other one is listed as a part of the Signature Selection...but it's from Seville.

I can't find any info on this second version and it's not listed on any online store website I know. At first I thought it was a mistake by DVDsoon but then I checked DVD Profiler and they too have two versions listed. Both are slated for 5/27.

Anyone know the differences between the two?

Seville is a Canadian distributor. Sometimes they have unique supplements, sometimes not.

yeah, I realized that...but I don't know what the supplements are. The Columbia/Tristar version is also being distributed in Canada.

As seen on www.dvdenfrancais.com

In short, the seville edition will have Commentary with Director (with english+french subtitles), interview with almodovar (8 mins), gallery and Trailer. Spanish 5.1 and no english dub on the Seville just french dub.

Wow, thanks for the info. Does it mention whether it's a Quebec only release or if it's for the whole Canada? I don't mind the missing English dub since I won't listen to that anyways. It does have English subtitles right?

EDIT: nevermind, I think it says in there that it does...my rusty highschool French at work :D

So, has anyone done a comparison of these two versions yet? I'm leaning towards getting the US version, but Seville has released some excellent transfers lately, so I'm not sure.

As far as I know, the Seville version has more extras and Seville usually does good transfers. A comparison would be nice though...just to be sure.
