Talk about overexposure, how about "Clocks" by Coldplay? (1 Viewer)

I just have to say that I am so tired of "Clocks" turning up either as background or bumper music for just about every sporting event on TV in the last year. The latest is ABC golf coverage where they use a redone version for pretty much everything.

Why is it that certain songs just get beat into the ground? Do all the bigwigs for the networks get together and decide how to torture us?

What's even worse is the Cleveland Indians use some knock off version in one of their commericials.

Either way, it's better than SmashMouth dreck, or the God-awful GodSmack song they use to denote machismo.

Doesn't Coldplay have to grant permission for their music to be used in promo situations? Sounds like they sold out big time.

If Coldplay sold out then it wasn't recently, HBO used the music in a promo a year or two ago.

It is a catchy happy little riff the first 1000 times you hear it.

I hardly ever hear Clocks. I guess I'm not watching the TV or the channels at the right time.
