This has already run on HBO, don't know if it repeats, think there is or will be a DVD.

Terrific film starring Kevin Bacon, Taking Chance is the true story of a Marine officer escorting a deceased PFC home for burial.

It had been on my DVR for several weeks before I got to see it tonight.

If you get an opportunity, please view it.

Caught it when it first ran. The film is a true gem, although as a precaution, one should have one or two hanky's on-hand.

Good movie. When he was at the morgue where they were preparing the bodies, their was a female actress, like a doctor. I know I've seen her before, but could not find her in the credits. Anyone know who I mean and her name?

Are you talking about the African-American actress who played a mortuary technician?
That was Sharon Washington.

Have had it on the DVR since it first aired. Haven't watched it yet. Guess I'll have to move it up the queue.

No, this was a white woman, I believe with reddish hair. Not realold or young, probably late 30's to late 40's in age.

Perhaps, Ann Dowd, she played Gretchen.
You may have seen her on Law & Order, or lots of other shows.

Might be. I'll have to watch again. Thing is, as I recall, the character I had in mind, they never really said the characters name.

Anyone know the age appropriateness for this? Got the DVD but don't know if it is appropriate for teenage kids. No rating on the DVD and doesn't include any content info. Any help would be appreciated.

I feel confident in telling you that teenagers are old enough to watch this. There was NO graphic content, No nudity and I'm not sure but I don't think there was a language issue.

This is about to run again on HBO, as with most films, you should stick with it though the credits.

I was just going on my poor memory, but I thought it might have been at the end of the credits when we saw a photo of Chance, mugging for the camera.
It was just a very human candid photo, reminding us of what was lost.

Ah okay, yes, I believe that was just prior to the credits (although some might consider that as part of the credits). There were actually several photos in Chance at various ages.

I just watched the DVD presentation of this from HBO Films.

As Henry noted, I would advise anyone to watch this film. A lovely tale of the impact of the travels of the fallen Marine and his escort across America as he returned home to his family and hometown. Very moving.

It wouldn't be a bad thing if more Americans saw this.

I had been wanting to see this film since I had first heard about it. I was not disappointed.
