I'm sure I will get destroyed for this, but I have to say it. Syndicated cuts, and music replacement on tv dvd's are not a big deal to me...at all. I know there are many purists out there who would probably die before they buy anything that is cut, or altered in any way, but if it's an obstacle the studio can't get around, then I say it's time for a change. Syndicated cuts. Most shows I watched growing up were already in syndication, so I wouldn't know the difference anyway. The shows I watched in the 80's like Alf, I have forgotten about completely, so agian it's not a big deal. Now Don't get me wrong, I would prefer watching the uncut version of a show, but if it comes down to an issue of the studio only having access to a specific print, and that is what they press, that is what I'd buy. Music substitution. THE WONDER YEARS. We all know whats keeping this gem on the back burner, and it's not lack of interest. With the music being a huge obstacle, I would suggest in the scenes with the song in question, not to replace it with another song but find a good composer to score it. Who knows it may be even more powerful than the scene was to begin with. I'm ready for the barrage of insults, so let me just say this: Once again, I don't prefer an altered version of any show, but if it means a show will either be released, or in limbo for years, I will be more than happy to support the syndicated, music substituted release.
