"Switching Channels" is on one of Showtime's movie channels today and I was reminded just how funny this movie is.

Starring Burt Reynolds, Kathleen Turner & Christopher Reeve (in a hilarious love triangle) it's so quick and sharp, it's like I'm watching a play. It kind of reminds me of "Noises Off."

I hope that Columbia gets around to releasing this on DVD soon and when they do, it had better be in widescreen. If not, I won't buy any Columbia titles for 2 years (yes, I'm serious.) Their record with catalog titles worries me.

Is there anyone else interested in this movie?

When Columbia gets around to releasing it, it'll probably be pan & scan and retail for $24.95. If they change their ways and do it right, I'd buy it.

This was a very funny remake of THE FRONT PAGE. An odd casting choice that works surprisingly well.
