WOW!
I'm new here, but I thought I would post this for anyone browsing.
I have been using an Intouch X1 with a $50 radioshack DVD player for about a year now and have been using the s-video connection. I have always noticed small white specks in the image around contrast edges and such. I just assumed that this was normal for a "low end" projector w/ DLP. After browsing yesterday about home theater stuff, I came across this site. After awhile, I realized that I should switch to component video to see what would happen. I went home promptly after having a tooth pulled, popped a couple of Tylenol 3, and made a composite to 15pin adaptor for me system. 2 hours later, I plugged it in and could not believe the difference! No specks, double image size, incredible clarity, and one happy camper. Through in Star Wars Episode V, sat back, and enjoyed the show. Now all I need is a new surround sound reciever (mine seems to be distorting/clipping all of a sudden).
Cheers,
Todd
