I noticed on SVS's website that they offer several wood finishes for a PB1-Plus model.

Are these finishes available for all of their box subs?

How close does the mercury red finish match Rockets rosewood finish?

You can send SVS a sample or they may have one of Rocket speakers, you can pick any stain you'd like pretty much.

The "Ultra" means the sub contain one of their Ultra drivers.

There is nothing in the title which indicates the finish. If you go to their website, it'll indicate the PB's that you can get a wood finish.

The News page at SVS is long overdue for an update and it's going to get one soon. The PB1-Plus and PB2-Ultra are not shipping yet but will be in pre-order stage before Chirstmas (immediately following our DEC board meeting probably, around 17 DEC). The amps for both subs are being built finally this month and we've pretty much decided what details will be on the enclosures.

All this delay has been put to good use though. Those two enclosures will now sport basically the same sort of exterior veneer (hard clear maple) as the B4-Plus with 1" enclosure walls. To keep costs down we'll offer "only" 5 standard finishes for each one (whereas the B4-Plus and SS cylinder sub are pretty much custom matched to anything you want).

Hope that clarifies some.

Oh, and our Mecury Red is a very close match for the Rocket speakers in overall hue, though the bold/pronounced grain accents of their Rosewood is much different than the very fine grain of the maple. It's just the nature of those two woods.
