I've decided after a lot of research to get an onkyo 606 receiver and a svs sbs-01 speaker system with a pb10 nsd sub. What kind of wires do I need to connect everything system related. And any suggestions on stands. How well do carpet spikes work and how easily can the speaker fall off

Bump it and it will fall off unless you have it secured. Glue, screws, etc are all valid mounting methods.

I bought some stands at TV Stands, Entertainment Centers, Speaker Stands & Audio Racks and I'm happy with them. You can get the same stands from 100 other places online for the same price though. I had a good enough experience to pass the info along though.

That's a good idea to use RG6 coax cable for sub cable. I assume you just put rga connectors on it instead of the normal cable connection (not sure what that one is called). But to keep things easy, you may just want to buy a regular sub cable (It usually says "Sub Cable" on the packaging

oh, and you can safely avoid wires from companies like Monster. Not that they make a bad product, just that the money is best spent elsewhere, since you can get comparable quality for less $.

RCA connectors are the standard audio connectors while the screw on type for cable are called F connectors. At my wall plates I use and F to RCA adapter. It's much easier for me since I have hundreds of extra F connectors from running a few thousand feet of video cable in my house during construction.
