Quick question from the SVS web site. I am contemplating the 25-31PCi or the 20-39PCi. The website states: "The PB1-ISD has single woofer so as you might expect, it's virtually identical to a 22Hz tuned version of our 25-31PCi subwoofer." Can someone please explain to this newbie how I would get a 22Hz tuned version of the 25-31PCi. Does anyone know how this will compare to the 20-39PCi? Any recommendations - I'm thinking that for the extra $50, I should just go for the 20-39, but not if the 25-31 tuned to 22 is adequate. Here's my set up: Rocket 550s up front and in back along with the 200 Bigfoot, Pio 1014. Room size: 18X16X10 fully opened on one side to a 25X16 kitchen. Thanks.

I think you should stick with the first choice as I believe you will get higher spl in your room with that sub. Going any deeper really depends on what type of material you plan on playing. Are you a big fan of organ music?

The 25-31 tuned to 22Hz is a nice compromise between the 25-31 and the 20-39. You'll get a little more extension, but you won't lose quite as much SPL as you will with the 20-39. Either will probably suit you fine. You might e-mail SVS, explain your situation (room size, etc) and see what they think.

25-31 @22Hz would be nice, as it's a lot smaller than 20-39. I'd go for it. Btw PB10 is tuned at 17.5Hz I believe.

How do you tune the SVS subs to specific Hz? Or is this info that is passed to SVS prior to the purchase?

Notice that [email protected] gives up (quite a lot) to it's bigger brother especially at 20-25Hz range.

Yes, you have to inform SVS that you want different tuning.

After talking to SVS, I decided to go with the 20-39. Yes, they will tune it to 22 for you but with the size of my room, the salesman recommended the 20-39. At only $50 more than the 25-31, it became an easy decision.
