Didn't realize this was a thread from 2019. Oh well.
Most people young and old, I know would be considering something like this. Most I know have no interest in home theater surround systems. They want a simple system with 2 small speakers and a subwoofer for good bass.
Every old system I have sold in the last 20 years, has been a 2.1 system. No one wanted a full surround system. Now I have setup plenty of full surround systems, but these were for friends with home theater interests that wanted new equipment. Other friends and coworkers were not interested in surround sound as they wanted a music system that could be used also with their TV for some movies. They didn't want surround speakers on their walls or on their furniture.
