I have a pair of original SVS Drivers sitting around so deciding what to use was no problem. I am building a pair of Subs for music (got a tempest for HT) for my MTM's to sit on. I plan to bi-wire this new set up. High pass MTM. Low pass SVS. Crossover to come in another post.I found most of the stats for the SVS drivers but still want to find out the rest so I can run them in Win ISD to build the best box poss. This is what I got:
    FS-21 hz
    Qts-.38
    Qes-.39
    Qms-6.6
    Vas-4.6 ft^3 130 liters
    Impedance-4ohms
    Re-3.2
This is what I would like:
    SPL
    X-max
    power handling
I don't think I need these other specs but it wouldn't hurt to know them.
    Thanks!!!

the specs you have are what Tom V of SVS posted once and that's all we have unfortunately. some others here might be able to make guesstimates on the other values, but not I...

  3. Unibox will calculate the SPL for you
Xmax is probably 14-16mm one way
power handling is probably 200-300watts RMS

    Chris,

Sounds like a good setup! BTW, are you going to use separate amplification for the SVS drivers? If so, you'd be bi-amping, not bi-wiring.

  5. well...he could bi-wire, but I doubt the sensitivities would match and then there is the massive XO he would need to build..and then it would be underpowered[IMG]
    bi-amp all the way!

    Ok.?.?.?
Explain more about this sensitivity / xover / under power thing?
I will be using am Adcom 200watt @8ohm/ 350watt @4ohm amp if that helps.
If the MTM design is 4ohms (maybe 6) SPL ~ 90db and the sub is 4 ohms SPL ~ 89db what should I do? I am missing something really big aren't I? Dooooohhhh!!! I knew it. Should have read that book Now I feel stupid [IMG]
