On a whim I bought the Daylight DTS laserdisc from EAVlaser.com for $2. If you want some super subsonic woofin this will be THE BEST $2 you will EVER spent. Now the movie leaves something to desire... but this thing puts out some MAJOR bass!!! I own most of the big bass movies: Toy Story2, Saving Private Ryan, Matrix, Blade, 5th Element, Event Horizon, Titan AE, Lost in Space, U571, Twister, Haunting...
but I have to say this is now my SVS demo disc of choice. Laserdisc owners do youself a favor and Spend the $2 on Daylight DTS! You CANNOT beat the tunnel explosion scene!

TrevorH - your description is exactly the effect I've been trying to get in my HT. Can you fill me in on which SVS you have and how big your room is so I can use it as a guide? (sorry for being off-topic).

JohnMM, I have the SVS 20-39CS it is powered by a 300 watt amp, my room is 1568 cubic feet, the SVS packs quite a punch in there but if your room is much bigger than that you may need 2 SVS's to get the same effect.
P.S. you can see pictures of my room and setup on my HT page.

Wasn't 'Daylight' one of the earlier Universal DTS-DVDs which had full bit rate DTS? Might be the same mix as the LD. Anyone know for sure?
