The servo 15 can be had for about $1200-1300 CDN or about $ 850 USD.

I have compared a 16-46 to a Servo 15, but not a 20-39. In this fairly large room (don't know the dimensions, did it over a weekend at a friend's house). I had an easier time integrating the 16-46, and it may have been a bit better in music for that reason. Can't say I couldn't have fiddled with X-over frequency, slope, type, phase blahblahblah and gotten the Serve 15 better than it was given time.
The 16-46 could not quite compete in maximum level however. It bottomed out numerous times where the Servo-15 did not. Keep in mind here also, that the 2 subs were adjusted by hand, so perhaps we had the 16-46 'hotter', so we were asking for more low end at a given overall level than the Servo-15. I think we were fairly close, but wanted to make that possible problem clear.
Conclusion: Both subs very good. I'd choose the Servo-15 in a heads up ignoring the cost difference (which is pretty significant). Individual taste tells whether the cylinder vs black box look and footprint is better for you. Multiple 16-46's might be an impressive setup if you didn't mind 2 cylinders in your room, and the prices are a closer matched.
Cheers,
CZ
Chris,
* * * The Servo will never bottom out because it has bass limiting circuitry built into it's amplifier (SVS does not). Your method of hand adjustment & level guessing is inaccurate for this type of comparison. Instead, you should take SPL readings at various frequencies to accurately compare maximum output. Or you could look at Nousaine's list and see that the smaller SVS beat out the Servo-15 (for max output).
Having said that, I own a Servo-15 and have been pleased with it's performance in my small room.

You said in your small room? Small like mine (13.5 x 13.5 foots) ??? lol! Anyway, all of you begin to make me a decision... maybe, im gonna choose the Servo-15. I think that for my small room, this sub will be VERY ok for me. I find that my PS-1000 is very powerfull. It rattles my wall enough to be heard in my kitchen which is just under my bedroom, it shakes my desk a lot (my cable modem never stays at the same place!!!) So I guess that with the servo-15 or with the SVS, i'm gonna be crazy each time i will listening to hard techno or ultra bass songs.
In other way, my setup contains only paradigm speakers. So I dont think that i could go wrong with the Servo-15. The SVS could be good also. Many of you told us that they sound very good with the paradigm line. daaaaaaaaah! It's so hard to make a final decision!!
The fact that SVS can be bought only at this site makes me cry... i would like so much to give them a try in my bedroom but I know now like all of u, of course, i can't. So if you say the SVS and Servo-15 are near each other in term of performance, because im a quebecois canadian, i might take the servo-15. If I want more bass anyway, I just have to buy another one And if I want MORE MORE bass, lol! I just have to take dual servo-15 and dual SVS subs like someone did in this forum

ClaudeL, I don't have the exact dimensions with me right now off the top of my head, but I do have the blueprints/architectural drawings somewhere, since the room is done up new from the recent renovation. Its *approximately* a 6m by 3m rectancle, with a sloping ceiling as its actually an attic. Its sorta like a balcony, as it overwatches the master bedroom downstairs, so volume wise, its quite a lot.
As I can see, our room seems to be bigger than mine. God if it's true that your Servo-15 can hit you very very very hard, I'm gonna leave in a heaven with my future one!
