Hi all.
I got a problem I need help with.
I got the HT all hooked up esxcept for one problem. I'm not sure how to hook up the VCR to be able to record from cable and/or satellite.
I have the HD sat receiver plugged into my Onkyo 696 thru component feeds as well as my DVD.
Can I also run an S-Video cable along side the components so I can record but still get the component feed out to my TV when not recording. (does that make any sense?)Or am I only allowed one type of output connection at a time?
Any help would be appreciated
If it helps my components are as follows:
Sat/HD receiver - Toshiba DST 3000
Receiver - Onkyp TX-DS696
DVD - Toshiba SD6200
SVHS - Misubishi HSU-746
HDTV - Toshiba 43H70
Thanks In Advance

Running both the component and S-video cables at the same time shouldn't be a problem. If you run the S-video and the analog audio from the satellite receiver to the A/V receiver you'll also need to connect the receiver's VCR output back to the VCR. The only reason you would do it this way is if there's more than one source that you'll be recording from. Whatever source is selected from the A/V receiver will be the one that is sent to your VCR for recording.
If you only plan on recording from one source, i.e., satellite or cable, you would be better off connecting from the source (satellite receiver or cable box) directly to the VCR. This would allow you to use your DVD/CD player (or any other source) while you're recording.
Hope this helps.
