Please forgive this Dumb question but its hard to get a straight answer from the BB/CC staff...

I plan on entering the world of DVD Recorders soon and I was wondering if DVD Recorders are able to record/playback in any type of surround mode(e.g.5.1,etc.)...
Or will my reciver have to simulate surround out of a stereo or 2.0 singal?

Again please forgive my lack of DVD Recorder knowledge...

    Thanks...

They only record in Dolby Digital 2.0. Your receiver will act like it's Dolby Prologic surround. Use ProLogic II if you have it on your receiver to enhance the sound.

They all playback just like any other DVD player...DD 5.1, DTS etc.
