Do all the speakers (except for the center and sub) share the same load? Or are the front left and front right speakers used more then the rest?
Thanks,
James

As far a per-channel activity, the generally accepted notion is that the center channel carries the most, followed by the front left and right, followed by the rear speakers.

Ahhh...so If I have 2 very good quality bookshelf speakers, they should be used for the fronts while my little cube speakes should be for the rear and sides?
Thanks again.

Yes, that is a good plan. About 70% of the sound in most movies comes from the front 3 speakers, and of those 3, the center will often be doing most of that work. Use the best 3 speakers up front. For most music, the main 2 will do either all or the vast majority of work.
