surround placement for 6.1 matrix? help (1 Viewer)

should your main speakers be parallel to that of your surround speakers? also, i own a yamaha htr-5540 with ddex matrix and dts es matrix and i was wandering how my surround speakers should be placed to achieve the greatest 6.1 matrix surround sound? my room is 15wx13lx8h, so what should the distance between my surround speakers be, no more no less than what? thanks for your help ive learned a lot from this website

Go to Denon's website and download one of the manuals for their HT receivers (3802, 4802, 5803). There's a pretty good layout drawings and discussion of speaker placement just before the back of the manual. Good luck.
