surround matching? important? (1 Viewer)

Is it that important to have matched speakers for the surrounds in my HT. lets say I have the JBL northridge series for up front but there is no di/bi polar speakers in that series. How important is it that i buy from that series or even that brand? will there be a noticeable difference? after all, the surrounds aren't really used that much. and it's not like dialouge comes from them.

While not quite as important as matching f/c/r, I think you should come as close as you can. Get the same brand for sure, the same series if at all possible. The more I delve into this hobby, the more I notice even the smallest difference in the sound and "character" of each piece of equipment. More so with music than movies. Eventually you will notice these things too. It can be enough to drive ya nuts.
