I was wondering if anyone can share their experiences or suggestions about surge suppressors with me. I am looking for one and want to do some background search before buying one. Any info you provide will be helpful.
I've got a Mits WS55857, a Yamaha 995 receiver, a powered sub, VCR, Pioneer DVD player, and Digital cable box I need to power.
Thanks in advance for your help! :)

I use Tripp Lite surge protectors on my systems. They are highly rated and have done their jobs quite well for me, especially during power surges/outages in our rural area. These also carry a guarantee that includes several thousand dollars of damage to your equipment. I believe I paid about $50 for each of mine.

I also use a Tripp Lite Isobar 8, (8 plugs) I also use another one from radioshack that basically handles the video portion, TV, DVD player, VCR, backlight)... The Tripplite takes the more important (to me) audio section like my 2-channel amp, my 3-channel amp, my DD processor, my Preamp, my CD Player, and my tuner...
No problem for about 3 years and running so far..

http://www.brickwall.com/ offers alot of interesting reading, and good raw surge protection IMHO. I have their basic 8 outlet model on my audio gear and Pioneer Elite.
Though I don't think their products offer cable-wire protection...

I have bought 2 of these Panamax units for $40 and have had no problems:Link Removed
Or you can get one of these Panamax units for $35-$71 depending on which features you need:Link Removed
At these prices why buy a cheapo. Good luck.
