I would not include From Hell or Road to Perdition on the list. They are comic book adaptations, but the are not in anyway superhero movies which is the original question. Ghost World is another non superhero comic that was made into a movie. However, I would add Unbreakable to the list, even thought it wasn't based on a comic. Oh, and don't forget the coolest original superhero movie around, The Incredibles, no superhero list would be complete without it.

I don't think so, but if you're gonna go there, then you've got to include Azumi, too. And Casshern. And Ichi The Killer. And probably more than I can even conceive, because Japan spits out roughly twelve thousand insane movies a year.

But don't "superheroes" have special powers that are beyond the abilities of humans? If so, then martial arts masters, Roman and/or Greek soldiers, King Arthur, Robin Hood, The Three Muskateers, and Zorro don't count as superheroes, since they are only human.

P.S. Jon, good point...but I always thought Batman was just the lone exception of a person who doesn't have superpowers being considered a superhero.

Batman is a superhero because of the costume, not the powers. But certainly there are superheroes with powers but not costumes. There really are a lot of factors to look at, but I think Scott's original list is really good, but the imdb list has a lot that I wouldn't really call superheroes. I'm kind of on the fence about characters like Zorro, I would consider those proto-superheroes or psuedo-superheroes maybe.
