I had a great time watching this B-movie while adding in my own comments. I was a bit surprised that there wasn't the usual guilt-trip that somehow this was the fault of humans.

Of course, this could happen at any moment.

Tick, tick, tick...

According to the documentary that aired after the show, there is the possibility that it may never erupt again. The basis for this was that during the past eruptions the earth was much hotter and the crust above the chamber was much thinner. Of course, that could also mean it will just take longer to pop.

However, if an eruption seemed immanent, we could always get a fleet of helicopters to drop water on it to cool it off. :)

The movie itself was reasonably entertaining for what it was and it was nice to see the little documentary after the show. This might be a way to get kids more interested in science. Show them a disaster flick then show the real people that are studying/researching the subject and how they do it.
