I was surfing around today, and found that winamp3 was officially out. So i downloaded it. Then i went looking for some cool skins, and i found this super cool skin:
    http://www.winamp.com/skins/detail.jhtml;$sessionid$CJ2PK1RV4UPCC5YAAAARCZY?componentId=117 974
its not very functional however, wtih only the basic play/stop etc buttons, volume control, a time bar, and a the spectrum analyzer, but it just looks so cool! [IMG]
The analog hands can display the current time, or the song play-lengh, or the time left on the song.
Here's a screen of it in action: http://www3.telus.net/sonick/time.jpg
I think it blends in very well..
Also, winamp3 is a great player! I downloaded the beta before, it was buggy, but the release is awesome! Better than WMP8 IMHO (not as flashy and bloated)

I don't like Winamp 3. They are NOT done with it. It's lacking features Winamp 2 had like keyboard shortcuts. Also, when I play a list of songs, it shuffles and repeats them, even though those options are turned off. I do not like the layout of Winamp 3. Therefore, I'm sticking with 2.80.

It's also quite a bit slower to load up than previous versions and is less tweakable.

Eww. Winamp 3 doesn't have keyboard shortcuts?

I tried working with MusicMatch but I cannot believe that they don't have the time of the track listed in the playlist. It's like buying a car without a speedometer.

WinAmp 3 just feels like all flash and no go. I HATE the fade between songs.

You can change that. I hated it too.

Somewhere in the prefs. I didn't download the final version yet. I might stick with 2.80.

Wow, that stinks to hear negative feedback about Winamp 3. I almost downloaded it but decided to stick with 2.80. Glad I did...

Put me down as another Winamp 3 hater. It is so damn slow it's ridiculous. Full of glitches too. It doesn't look like theres any option for visualizations at this time either, except for AVS, which sucks IMO. I'll be sticking with 2.80 for awhile.

I think Winamp3 runs slow for everyone but me. [IMG] Running a playlist of 1500+ songs on shuffle, it only creeps up to 10 or 11% CPU usage between tracks (or if you manually skip through part of a song); otherwise it sits comfortably at 00% CPU usage most of the time.

Winamp 3 is another Windows Media Player. I abhore the new Windows Media Player. If I wanna play a video, I just type in mplayer2 in the RUN command to bring up Media Player 6. That's the best one.

I don't like Winamp3 either. While I think it's fairly stable and I haven't noticed it using a lot of CPU or RAM, it's the free-form skinning that bothers me. Part of what I like about Winamp 2.x is that it's compact. It will always fit shaded in the bar of a maximized window and never bother me. Not so with these crazy WA3 skins.
