I have a Sunfire Cinema Grand Signature 5 Channel Amplifier for sale. I am asking $1699 shipped (obo). It comes with glass base, manual, power cord, and box. It is a beautiful unit, with tremendous power reserves. At this price is will sell quickly. The front window lights when powered and the unit is in perfect shape. The only blemish is the glass base has a small 1/2" chip in one corner that I have glued back in place. If you positioned that corner to the back of the unit you would never notice it.

*More Info*

Each Cinema Grand Signature is personally signed on the face plate by Bob Carver. The Cinema Grand Signature shares the legendary warmth and musically engaging nature of the entire line of Sunfire amplifiers.

One more price drop, after this I have to move this somewhere else. On Ebay I could get much more, doesn't anybody like fantasticly powerful amps on the cheap anymore? ;)

anybody else think it's strange that there have been a recent rash of brand new members bumping really, really old classifieds asking to buy X? Two today and almost a weekly occurance. With all the scams going on...could this be one of them (don't understand how, what or why-but seems to be too much of a common occurance).

Not saying the person that bump this thread is anything but an upstanding new member

I've noticed it as well and I am at a loss to explain it. Could it be search engine protocols leading them here?

Thank you, Ron & Jim - I knew I wasn't crazy (and the voices keep reminding me...) but it sure has seemed like there has been a steady stream of that happening and there almost seems to be a pattern. Way more often than not, it seems that the question re: a months- to years-old offer is the first any only post of a newly-registered user who then seems to never return nor post again (but I haven't exactly researched all that extensively). I could see it happening once or even twice - but the ongoing and semi-regular appearance of those innocent inquiries sure does seem a bit unusual.

Does anyone see this happening at other sites?

I have not noticed it at two other sites I spend time on. It's certainly strange and as others of said...I don't think random. I'm MUCH more risk adverse when it comes to selling my equipment. Places like audiogon, which used to be as safe as a place could get, has been invested for sometime now. Sad that one has to view inquiries with a leery eye.

If we look at this example. He's posted twice, both inquiries about years old gear for sale. Strange

Just looked at the last two weeks. Ads that are at least 5 months old to less than 12 months: 4 ads All by new members with one or two post count.

There were 6 ads over a year old (some many years old) that were bumped in the last two weeks. All 6 ads by new members with one or two posts. I made an assumption on one ad by Erik, who bumped his own thread, since he had gotten several email inquiries about his item, which was placed over a year ago in the classifieds area.

For that much activity in two weeks, one had to assume there aren't that many newbies, who don't check the dates...I've got to believe there is something funky going down.

Lesson: Sellers beware for potential potholes when selling your items. Do I dare say longtime members should require a prepayment before shipping? I do that for BR titles when selling to brand new members.

Stay safe
