    Hi,

My friend is wanting to build a home theater. He's wanting to spend about $500 for the whole sha-bang...speakers that is. So, for the fronts, center, rears and a sub, what speakers should we look at?

    Thanks,

    Jason

ps...also please chime in for packages costing a "little" bit more.

I don't think you can go wrong with the SX-HTB, and if you have the extra cash, the AV-BP2 Bipolars for rears. That leaves about $150-200 for a sub in which case you can get the Flauance sub (which I haven't heard too much about) or either the Dayton 10" or the Velodyne VX10.

Have him check out the Acoustic Research HC6 system. It can be found for just a little over $300 and is a good value.

Klipsch Quintet 5 piece setp for about $350 and then a subwoofer for about $150. Can't get much better than that.
