    All,
    Speaker Stand design
I just want to pass this idea by all of you knowledgeble people here. I have this design that is where the link points to. My question is this: does this design look practical and sufficient to hold a pair of AIWA speakers? The speakers will fit on the base without a problem, I am just worried about toppling. But I figure with some carpet spikes this problem will be easily solved.
Does anyone have any suggestions from their past experience? This will be my first DIY project and I will begin once I can get a free weekend to get to Houston to utilize my dad's tool shop.
    Thanks for the info.

Looks good and very buildable D-I-Y. You might consider filling the conduit with sand or lead shot for mass. Go for it and post pictures/construction info!

Thanks Hank, I had planned on filling the center poles with sand, I had figured that it would add to the stability and also add some acoustic help as well.

    Thanks for the opinions!
