I need a few suggestions on things to consider when I shop for my first DVD player. I have done a good bit of reading in mainstream publications, but their suggestion is always "if you are considering a DVD player in $xxx price range, take a look at this."
I would like to stay under $250. For the WAF, the player will need to have a gold-silver faceplate. This player will do 75% video, 25% audio. I will be using S-video.
I know that this is a broad question, but any help would be appreciated.

You might want to check into a sony player or possibly a JVC. They both have players in the silver/gold color in the price range you want. You probably can't go wrong with either one, the both put out a decent picture.

    Panasonic DVD-RV31S (silver).
$249 retail price (less online) and no chroma bug.
