They are not in SACD or DVDA nor are they classical, but I'd recommend:

Jean Luc Ponty - King Kong check the Jazz section

and

It's A Beautiful Day - It's A Beautiful Day check Rock or Oldies

...or also in the not classical vein:

Seatrain's self-titled album that features the utterly fabulous Richard Green on fiddle.
...or look for him with Red, White, and Blue Grass. Personally I liked him with Seatrain better. He made the remnants of the Blues Project into an exciting and different sounding rock band.

Try something by Buddy Spicher. He's done some albums of "kuntry-ish jazz". If you can find Area Code 615 on vinyl, he contributed there too.

I like Jean Luc Ponty too!!! His first album is a treasure as far as I'm concerned...not that his other albums aren't terrific too.

The Flock made rather imaginative use of lead, electric fiddle too....

I remember the Flock! I used to play them on my radio show. I particularly liked their cover of the Kinks "Tired of Waiting For You."
