Hi Phil - are you looking for a receiver that is capable of converting S-Video to HDMI, or for a model that can upscale S-Video to HDMI? There is a big difference in price depending on the capabilities you are looking for.

For HDMI conversion, I would recommend the Denon AVR-2307CI, AVR-2807 or AVR-3806. For HDMI upscaling you may want to look at the Denon AVR-4306.

Hi Robert - just pointing out an S-Video Upscale comparison for Phil, in which he can see a visual comparison for himself. This is more for his benefit. The RX-V2600 is a very capable receiver.

Understood, didn't mean to be short with you, but you quoted my comments. Anyhow, I'm getting ready to add another piece of equipment to the 2600 that should make upconverting signals even better moreso.

I did not know there was a difference between converting and upgrading the S-Video signal. Which method is better and is the difference noticeable?
