Suggestions for a new Sony OLED for bedroom (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone-

I’ve been meaning to get a decent TV for the master bedroom. I think it’s time. In 2021 I got the new Sony 83” A90J from Value Electronics for the main home theater set-up. I’ve been very happy with the set! So I’d like to stick to another Sony OLED.

For the bedroom, I’d like a 65” TV, I know that’s probably being like Barney in How I met Your Mother, if you saw that. I am starting my research and I see that the A95L is the new flagship, it won the Value Electronics shootout. For the bedroom, I won’t be doing critical viewing, so it might be more TV then necessary. But I won’t mind having it either for 4K movies. So I’d welcome suggestions for other Sony OLED models. Pretend money is not a problem. I see there is a Sony Bravia 8, but I haven’t read up on it yet. That’s half the money of the A95L. So that’s a good thing.

Main usage, general OTA TV watching, will connect an AppleTV 4K to steam Paramount Plus and stream from my Plex Server. YouTube too.

You might want to wait a bit until the Bravia 8 II is released, which is purported to be both better and cheaper than the A95.

I also recommend Sony's New 2025 65" BRAVIA 8 II.

Wow, two suggestions for the Bravia 8II. I just read up on it. It's funny to think if I am able to get one, it will be, on-paper, technically better then the A90J. And it’s for use in a bedroom. . Not that it’s a problem.

Robert, thanks for the info on the TV specs. Up until today, I never heard of QD OLED, I have to read up on what that is. And very good to know about the dates of availability. I didn’t know it would be this soon. I’ll be curious too how much impact the tariffs will have on pricing, if at all.

I’ll do some more reading on this set.

Robert, I saw the Tech Therapy video you posted in the Sony Bravia 8II thread you started. This TV sounds like it’s quite an impressive machine. It also seems very disappointing in that my still fairly new to me A90J in my home theater set-up might not be able to keep-up if I had the Bravia 8II in my house.

This is a very temping set to pick-up. I’ll keep it on my list, it’s actually the only TV on my list. But first a bedroom TV, I’m also considering the basic Bravia. Still, disregarding what room it’s in, there’s much value to having the best imagery still from a display, especially if it’s displaying HD and 4K material.
