Suggestions for a good non-linear interactive game (1 Viewer)

I haven't played computer games in years, but I thought I would try one out this year. It has to be a PC game (Win XP OS). The only one that I really know about that is on the same line that I am looking for is Grand Theft Auto 3, non-linear, interactive, ect...

What other PC games are out now that you would suggest I look at?

On a side note, does anyone know where I could find a DukeNukem type game that my roomate and I could play on our LAN? I used to play that game years ago with people at work, but I can't find any multi-player versions of that for use to use.

Morrowind would definitely fit the bill!
