I currently have my HT calibrated with VE, all speakers set to small. I have all speakers set to 75db and subwoofer set to 78db.

    My equipment is:

    Denon 3802

    Klipsch KG 4.2's--Mains

    Klipsch KG 2.2v--Center

    Klipsch KSB 3.1's--Surrounds

    Rock Solid monitors--Rear centers

    SVS 20-39's--Subs

I was thinking about getting Avia and using both Avia and VE to calibrate my system.

Since I run all speakers as small, I would first calibrate the sub using Avia. I would set it sub to 78db, then go to VE to set the LFE channel to 78db.

Would this work? It sounds like it would work in theory, but with subwoofers and their in room response, what looks good in theory can sound sound really bad in the real world.

    Thanks in advance

Assuming your controller has a separate SUB and LFE levels, yes it should work. That is exactly how I calibrate my Sony TA-E9000ES pre/pro. Wihtout making this adjustment the LFE level was 4dB too low in relation to the SUB level.
