Hi, I just bought a new 10" - 100w subwoofer which goes down to 25hz (may not seem very good, but its got some grunt [IMG]
When I turn bassy music up real loud, it squeals at the back of the port, but when I put my hand infront of it, it stops.
This seems wierd coz theirs no distortion at all and it sounds fine at the front.
Does anyone know what i can do to fix this problem??

    Thanks

You are hearing port noise. At the tuning frequency of the system, the woofer cone may come close to standing still, while most of the output is through the port. Not that much you can do except turn it down or take the sub back and buy a sub with more ample porting.

For the sake of asking, what brand and model is it?
