I'm about to construct a passive subwoofer (142.5L Shiva) for my home theater, and I was wondering how concerned I should be about shielding since I plan to place the sub directly behind the amoire in which my 32" WEGA lives. The sub driver will be down-firing, thus at the bottom of the enclosure, so I would estimate that the magnet will be 2.5 to 3 feet from the bottom/back of the TV. Should I be concerned? Is there anything that can be done as a precautionary measure, other than relocating the sub? i.e. DIY shielding?

    Thanks for any help.

I dont think you need to be concerned. My downfiring tempest is about 2 feet from my 32" TV and there is no problem.

Contact Adire Audio about this, I had a similar question and they answered back in no time at all!
