I've been entertaining the notion of getting some sort of real subwoofer for a while now... and now that my current sub amp has croaked (an old Sony STR-515 or some similar piece of..) I'm beginning to get serious about the whole thing.

Existing system: NHT SuperOnes and SuperZeros, Yamaha DSP-A1 proc/amp. (The rest doesn't really matter, does it?)

Requirement: must be a sealed box subwoofer.

    Goal: inexpensive -

    Leo,

I have a "cube" sealed sub built which I created as a model prior to building my Shiva boxes.

It is a 30L cabinet. I've finished the exterior of the cabinet, but you could just go ahead and refinish it as desired. For the driver, I used a Rockford Fosgate 8 Ohm, single voice coil driver which I picked up on an auction.

    Link to pictures: 30L Cabinet

My price: $45.00 - to cover the cost of the driver & materials. Just add an amp - $110 from Parts Express and you'd have a pretty good musical sub at a very economical price.

    I'm located in No. VA.
