I'm wondering what is a better sub for home theater. The paradigm pdr-10 or the sony sa-wm40? A dealer has both of them but the pdr-10 wasn't hooked up for some reason.

    Justin,

If you have your system in a very small room, like a 12’ x 15’ bedroom, a 10” sub will probably be okay.

In larger rooms, like family rooms or living rooms that open to other areas like the kitchen, dining room, etc., most 10” subs are just too small and can’t deliver low extension at high SPL levels.
