Generally, you connect your main speakers to the speaker terminals on the subwoofer because you have to, not because you want to.

You do this on older receivers or stereo receivers that do not have a dedicated subwoofer output. Instead, you take both the left and right front speaker outputs and run them both to the subwoofer. The subwoofer's internal crossover pulls the lower end of the frequency spectrum for its own use, and passes the higher frequencies on to the main speakers.

For newer receivers that have a dedicated subwoofer output, you're best off connecting your speakers that way - letting the reciever handle the crossover and sending output for each speaker separately.

Thanks for the reply, it makes sence but heck they are still adding the speaker hook up on a 3D receiver, you would think that they would not have the speaker terminals oh well who am I.
