Subwoofer Hookup (1 Viewer)

I am thinking of hooking up my 2 rel subs to the pre out
on muy marrantz sr18 to bypass the internal lfe xover.
Has anyone tried this and what were tne results.

I'm not sure about those pre-outs. Which ones exactly? Are they carrying the LFE channel? If not, you lose that!

I'm also not sure about the Pre outs. I have the SR7000. How about this if you want to get around the fixed x-over?

Set the speakers to "Large." Then, I'm pretty sure the only sub setting the AVR will allow will be "NO".

You could hook up one sub to each main speaker level (L/R speaker) terminal on the AVR and then run each main speaker off of the corresponding subs speaker level connection/terminal.

As Cees pointed out the LFE will not be a "discreet" channel in this arrangement, but the Marantz should re-route the LFE material to the mains and thus... through each sub.

Placement and calibration will certainly be more difficult, but that should achieve your goal.
