I have finally narrowed it down to three subs.
    1) Paradigm PW-2200 approx. $900 CDN
    2) HSU VTF-2 approx. $900 CDN
    3) SVS 25(or 22)-31 PCi B-Stock approx. $900 CDN

All of the above prices are final including tax.

Question: Which one of these subs would YOU get??

I mostly watch movies / satellite tv. No real critical music listening. My music tastes include mostly rock, alternative, and hip hop. You know, what you normally see on MTV / Much Music.

Everybody's input would be greatly appreciated!!

    Three.
But you were considering a Tempest in which case I'd say 4) build a Tempest (I did and don't regret it at all [IMG]).
Final cost came out to $800CND plus some time. But knowing what I know now I could have done it for closer to $700 rather than a little over $800.

I can't build a tempest. I was considering buying a kit from acoustic visions, but that would cost me around $1100 CDN, so that isn't really an option anymore. I capped myself at $950 CDN. I still need to buy a computer for school.

The lowest I could get on the PW-2200 was $850 before tax, but that was at a smallish store. Now, I'm gonna take that # to a few other stores and see what they can do.

I would hope to get if for about $800 including taxes, but would like to purchase it here in edmonton.

Nick, just to make things more difficult. Send Kyle an email and see what he can do on the following:

    Dayton DVC15"
    PE 300-794 plateamp
4" PSP flared port kit (or a pair of 3" kits, see what Kyle thinks)
flat kit for an appropriate enclosure for these parts

You should be able to get that up here for under $1000CDN. The end result will be a large step above a PW2200 or the 25-31PCi.
