Thinking about svs. Not sure if i have a place for the pci20-39 and the wife dosen't like the water heater size.
Thinking about the pb1-isd is more furniture appearing.
Will I be losing anything in quality of sound?

Nope... They will sound the same. Both are also a great value.

even the pb1-isd is surprisingly large. If it is going in a fancy living room or something, the wife probably won't like it.

The 16" dia footprint of the 20-39PCi is smaller than most subs. I have mine almost hidden behind my left front Klipsch Cornwall.
