I am upgrading my father inlaw's surround system. I got him a Harmon/Kardon AVR320 reciever to upgrade from his Onkio pro-logic unit. His C/V subs are not powered(2X10 in ported box). Should I use the "sub out" from the H/K unit to a remote amp for "LFE" or send left and right from the H/K unit through the subs (built in X-over) then to the speakers. The H/K unit has a feature that will send the "LFE" to the front speakers if you feel they can handel it and you don't have a sub. Any suggestions would be great. I will experiment as well and post my findings.

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris

    Hi Chris,
if you mostly like to watch movies, I would defenitely go for the remote amp, but if you use your system for listening to music, I would go for the speakers way. But that's only my opinion, try experimenting and see it for yourself. Hope that helps.
