I have a Denon AVR 1804 and a Mirage SUB. Both new. The sub will not "wake up" out of stanby mode. I am not sure if it is receiving the signal from the receiver. I have the cord going in the right direction(arrow towards the sub) and i am fairly confident i have it in the right slot. i have tried unpluging it and then plugging it in again, to see if it would recognize the signal then. it has only worked when i first turned the whole system on to make sure everything was connected before moving the furniture back.

In some cases the input isn't sensitive enough to kick the amp on. There are 2 alternatives -

Adjust the sub trim in the receiver UP, and compensate by turning the sub's volume knob down. This will add juice to the preamp input, and wake it up.

Add a splitter to the sub end of the cable and use the LR inputs if so equipped. That'll double the juice going in without disturbing the receiver's trim, but you'll still have to reduce the gain on the sub amp.

    I hope that helps -
